According M.Gimbutas (The Language of the Goddess, Harper & Row, San Francisco, 1989, page 5) "the decorations of the figure (right) serve to emphasize her pubic triangle, and thus his divine generative functon" (Mezin, Ukraine, 23 000 B.C.). Are they just waterbirds with the heads oriented down, with feathers stilized as shevron, and V-shape tails? |
