Cupules are articially formed cup-shaped hollows in stone and man's earliest form of art. In Kimberley, North-West Australia) mane panels of cuples (of a size - a half of a tenis ball) can be found (see: Rock Art by Bradshaw Foundation). Are they a sculptural representation of animal footprints?

On the island of Campeche (Brasil) there are groups of giant cupules shaped like plates, some more than 12 inches (30 cm) long.
